With over 800,000 people cycling every week in Queensland[i], coupled with Queensland being a travel beacon for both business travellers and holiday makes, the potential for Quipmo to substantially alter the cycling tourism landscape in Queensland is significant. Whether it’s a local bike shop looking for new customers or someone with bikes in their shed, anyone can now service the Queensland tourism market. This initiative is not simply for the most dedicated of cyclists but is aimed at the mainstream and offers another string to the bow of Queensland’s world class tourism industry.
Quipmo’s founder and CEO Chris Evans said: “We are absolutely delighted to be partnering with Bicycle Queensland and can’t wait to substantially change bike rental access for Queensland’s 24 million visitors per annum[ii]! Working with a highly innovative organisation who are at the very forefront of cycling advocacy and community leadership is truly exciting and we believe that this partnership has the potential to bring the whole community together through the share economy and cycling.”
CEO of Bicycle Queensland, Anne Savage, urged Queensland bike owners to register on Quipmo. “We’re pleased to partner with Quipmo to make this platform widely available in Queensland. It’s a great way for Queenslanders to list their bikes online for the enjoyment of a local neighbour or international visitor. This partnership is key to our mission and will encourage residents and tourists alike to cycle for fun, to socialise, and to experience Queensland’s culturally diverse communities and natural environment. There’s no better way to see the sunshine state than by riding a bike and enjoying our great outdoors.” Ms Savage said.
